We didn't manage to see sakura in action when we were in Japan 2 weeks back. So you can imagine how happy I was when I saw over Channel News Asia that our very own Flower Dome at the Gardens by The Bay will be having full bloom sakura!
We didn't want to wait any further, so on Tuesday after work, love and I made a trip to Gardens. He loves flowers so we even signed up for annual membership! It was already turning dark when we arrived but we still managed to have a good time there! There are more than 20 varieties of cherry blossoms! As cherry blossoms are ephemeral in nature, the flowers only last about one to two weeks, that is till about March 27. So be quick!
Styled after a traditional Japanese garden, the "Blossom Beats" display features quintessential Japanese elements such as a torii gate, Japanese screens and kimono.
With the specular torii gate. In Japan, a torii gate greets visitors at the entrance of a Shinto shrine. It symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred.
The exhibit is open from 9am to 9pm daily, with normal admission prices applicable. we paid S$12 to visit Flower Dome! We will be back again to view them in the day! (:
