Happy 74th Birthday, Ahma!!!

Ah Gong wanted to have dimsum for Sunday lunch so we made a table reservation at East Ocean Teochew Restaurant, Takashimaya! Thank god we did because the queue was madness! The place was jam packed with people, so make sure you make a prior reservation!

Anyway, we were gathered together for Ah Ma's birthday!! She's 74 on 1st October! I love you, Ahma!!!!

It's an almost complete family photo because we were missing of 3 family members, my uncle chye (shu shu), aunt (shen shen) and their younger son (jie shen) who are in London.

Polo Buns with butter!!!!

We ordered 2 different kinds of polo buns which they have. That is the char siew (bbq pork) or butter. It's soooo good when it's piping hot! (:

Crispy Scallop Wantons- Shared a piece with Zonia cause didn't look too good. Regretted after that boohoo!

Each dinosaur is filled with radish (chye poh), dry shrimps and pork!

Enough of table full of savory... now it's time for some sweet dim sum!! First up, is everyone's favorite Steamed Custard Buns- Liu Sha Bao! (:

It's my first time having East Ocean's Liu Sha bao and I must say that they are pretty heavenly!

The cousins with their liu sha bao! A few of them made a mess out of it cause each bun is full of custard!! Hard to handle!

Mini Puff Pastry Egg Tarts!

I grew up with egg tarts. I remember when I was younger and visited Hong Kong, I ate an egg tart everyday that I was there! But now, i can't finish a huge one so I would only egg tarts when I see that they serve mini ones on the menu! (:

Ma Lai Gao- Steamed Chinese Sponge Cake

Zonia's and mummy's favorite!! They would go to every dim sum restaurant and try out the ma lai gao. By far, the ones at Red Star is the worse! hahaha!

Ending the lunch with a last but most meaningful sweet item.

Ah Ma's Longevity buns!! East Ocean serves really pretty longevity buns that look so much like a peach!!

Happy Ah Gong!!

Because singing Happy Birthday songs with a birthday cake is too mainstream.

With all that happened 2 months ago in the family, it is really heartwarming and happy to have both my Ah Gong and Ah Ma with us and to be able to celebrate their 75th and 74th birthday this year (:
