Abacus hits Melaka 2011

Abacus brought us to Melaka for a staff retreat on the 19th of November!

Some of us were due there on Friday and the rest on Saturday.

Met up at Konsortium at Golden Mile to board our bus!

Was about 3 hours ride to Melaka and was pretty fun cause everyone had so much to talk about.

It's also my first time taking a coach up to Malaysia, so first time I had to get off the vehicle and have my passport stamped and back on the bus again.

We resided at Renaissance Melaka Hotel which was pretty near a few shopping centres.

I heard from the boy that Melaka is famous for the chicken rice ball and chendol.

We ended up at a Peranakan restaurant instead ((:

Now pictures of the food! The food took quite sometime cause they were cooked on the spot. Hen you home-cooked food the wei dao! (:

it's actually home-made egg pancake. not the usual off the shelf ones!

It's my first time tasting this dish. It's actually Indonesian nuts and chicken infused in a special blend of chilli and spices.

We were too full. Mel, Eugene and I shared a bowl of chendol. Damn good! The gula melaka is really good, we agreed that it's the best we ever tasted.

The bulldog cafe is just opposite the hotel. Really easy to locate if you want to give it a try! (:

Prices is really affordable too! We ordered like 3 servings were dish and the break down is about $10 per person.

After lunch, we all went into 1 room and did some work!

The 16 of us were there 1 day early not just for play teehee but also some work! We had to prepare for an internal seminar on Saturday noon for the rest of the colleagues.

Changed into a pair of shorts (with my hollyhoque tank!) and when the rest were done with their slides, we headed for some shopping downstairs! Remember the first few pictures where I showed this huge convenience store? ((:

Just the few of us cause the rest of them went shopping and we wanted to slack in the room before heading out!

I have got like 300 photos to blog! 300 is after filtering omg. Going to split this Melaka trip into a few posts! A lot of nice food that i will be sharing! Yay! ((:
